Significant CPU usage hike in polling engines post upgrade

Hello,

I have recently upgraded my platform to NPM12.3 from NPM12.0, post the upgrade i am noticing almost 20% spike in CPU usage on all my polling engines including the primary. This makes the web console slow since i have hosted it on the primary engine. What would be the reason for this? Must i increase the CPU cores?

Did you enable Application Dependency Mapping on anything?

Other than that there's a new UI element or two which hammer the CPU on my main server via IIS when i upgraded over those versions. I just opted to not use it till a later patch. Do you know which process is consuming the extra CPU?

It is the collector service. Solarwinds.collector.service.exe

What is your cpu and memory configurations on the Main Poller and database?
why did you just now hit 12.3? I would try to get to 12.5 asap (test in test first)- unless you are .gov or .mil where it takes forever to get versions approved.

We are currently integrating two setups, will be looking at 12.5 post that.
Primary - 32GB RAM and 8 Core processor
DB- 32GB RAM and 4 Core processor.

unless you are at 100% on the main poller/ Additional Web Engine, I doubt the slowness is coming from them- in other words, I would look at the database performance. What is your page life expectancy on the DB, CPU reading during slow times, etc. Also check your rabbitMQ queues. Sometimes things get stuck in there and cause chaos.
Finally, I would highly recommend you get from 12.3 to 12.5 if possible. They made significant improvements to overall system performance and functionality.
