SQL Database Questions

I have a ticket open with support but also wanted to see if anyone here could help. One of the DBAs on my team ran an indexing tool to check the health of the SQL database that is used by Orion and found that there are some indices that are missing and impacting performance of Solarwinds and there are also some deadlocks in the database. Anyone know if Solarwinds has recommendations on how they would fix this? We don't want to go in and fix and find out its the wrong way to fix things. We are running the latest version of SQL and it is at SP2. Thanks - Dave

Officially it is unsupported to do any changes to the index structure, you are entirely on your own. Outside of official support, I have had many large clients who turned their dba's loose on their instances to squeeze out more performance. Depending on how you use your monitoring tools you definitely can run into situations where there are indexes that you would need that are not necessary/useful for other customers.

Right now we are doing nothing I am waiting to hear back from Solarwinds support but I figured I would ask here because I usually get my answers faster from Thwack. I will wait until I hear back from them. Thanks!

You can take a look at the swdebugMaintenance.log and see what's going on there in terms of fragmentation on the DB
C:\ProgramData\SolarWinds\Logs\Orion
