Restarting a Service on a remote service from alerts

Good Morning,

I'd like to know if there is a way I can have an alert restart a service on a specific server.

Not the service that's being evaluated in the trigger conditions.

So if for example:

SERVER_A ( application monior A) goes into critical

then SERVER_B's (service id 1234) restarts

I believe it might be using the execute program action, but I'm not sure how to reference a service in another server.

You can accomplish this but it requires writing your own script to do so. You're in that you'd use the 'execute an external program.' You'd also want to make sure the alert condition is refined enough to only trigger the script when required.
Here are some examples of script execution that I've posted.
PSEXEC to start remote process
Execute remote process through WMI and Powershell

Hey baneland. In addition to chad.every's sage advice, you may need to reference some of the Orion variables in your execution path. View the link below to lean how to get the most recent list out of your Orion installation:

(NB: This assumes you are using NPM 11.5 or later. If you are using an older version, check the NPM Admin Guide for that version for further assistance).
