Report to Graph

I have a report for % uptime per month and year for our IDF and Core. Which provide good information, but is there a way to create a graph with that data?

  • You should be able to do this using the Custom Chart widget.  You will need to specify the datasource and then the X and Y axis.

  • Would the widget be able to be a report to be emailed?

  • Yes - Custom Chart is also available in the web based report writer.  As a matter of fact it is one of the first two options that show up when creating a new report.

Just to clarify, you essentially have two options.  Create a view/dashboard that can be emailed out as the web page through the use of the Report Scheduler, or create a report in the Report Writer.  If you wanted to edit an existing report, simply duplicate and edit that report and add content.  When choosing the Custom Chart or Custom Table, you choose the data source (list of items you want to report on) and then the x and y axis you want represented.

When choosing the data source, you can leverage a query builder, choose specific objects, or use a SWQL query.  If you have a list of objects in mind that could change in the future, its typically useful to leverage Custom Properties to tag you devices and use those in a dynamic query.  That way you do not have to go and add devices or remove devices from reports manually.
