Removal of Hardware monitoring from NPM

I am guessing this was removed in one of the later builds of NPM but hardware monitoring used to be included with NPM and you did not have to by SAM to get this feature for servers, when did this change? I am still able to see my environmental details on my network equipment but not my servers and I am just wondering why the change?
