Question regarding ping response and warning/down status.

The Node Warning Interval is defaulted to 120 secs and can be changed on the Polling Settings page near the bottom under Calculations and Thresholds.

Thanks!  I knew that. :)  For some reason I was thinking it was some multiplier of the individual polling interval.

If you use this sql:

insert into settings ([SettingID],[Name],[Description],[Units],[Minimum],[Maximum],[CurrentValue],[DefaultValue]) values ('SWNetPerfMon-Settings-Response Time Retry Count','Response Time Retry Count','Maximum ping attempts before placing a node in the state of warning.','','1','20','4','1')

Then it will attempt to ping the device 4 times before even thinking the node is down at all. (More explanation here)

It's not what you were asking about, but it make you trust that first down warning a little more.
