Orion keeps logging users out after upgrade to 2020.2.1

Hey folks,

Upgraded from 2019.4 to 2020.2.1 and ever since, Orion makes us log back in every time the browser is re-opened.
Previously, we logged in once, and remained logged in. If you closed the browser and re-opened, you would still be logged into Orion.

"Disable Session Timeout" is set to "Yes"

Anyone else having this issue or can provide some info?

  • To address potential security vulnerabilities the Orion platform 2020.2 Included changes to how user sessions are maintained. Closing the browser will terminate the session which will require the user to login.

  • Thanks for the info, . That's interesting. Is work being done on a fix that retains the ability to stay signed in? Are AD accounts with integrated Windows authentication also affected by this?

  • I would like to bump this up again and ask about the future of this issue.  We recently upgraded to 2020.2 and now our core users need to log in all the time after a browser closure.  Which isn't a big deal for a desktop browser, but a pain the bum on an iPhone each time.  At least give us the option, especially since the Disable Session Timeout feature still has the description "If session timeout is disabled, this account will stay logged in indefinitely even if the browser is closed."
