Node Down Alert When Group is up

Hi,

Currently I have groups setup for all my Switches and Core switches, what I would like to do is change the normal "node down" alert from:

Node Status is equal to down

TO

Trigger alert when all of the following apply:

Group status is equal to up

Node status is equal to down

This way, when our link goes down i do not get server alerts coming through saying all the servers are down.

If you made the node (or node group) dependent on the switch (or switch group), then the servers would be marked as unreachable instead of down, so that should get you what you want, right?

I think i may have had my group setup wrong, i have made some changes and this is how i have it now:
Groups and Group Members
Dependency Group
Question:
1) Do i need to create a "Servers" Group and add the servers as a child dependency of the NY Switches Group above?

Yes- if you want the servers dependent on the switches to which they attach.
