Need assistance setting up custom poller / alerting (HP Proliant Servers)
I'm relatively new to solarwinds and I'm trying to set up a custom poller for our HP proliant servers that monitors the status of the CPU, Memory, HDD's and PSU's. The poller outputs a number based on the status of the component.
For example, if the CPU status reports "OK", the poller will output a value of "2". However, when I go to test the poller, it is actually outputting a value of 2, 2 since it is a dual-core cpu. I have the same problem with all the other components. For example, the servers are outputting a value of 2, 2, 2, 2, 2 for all 5 hard drives.
I think my problem is, I'm not sure how to set up the alert to recognize the output from the poller. I am setting the alert to trigger if the "value" is not equal to 2, 2 but the alert continues to trigger. I tried setting the enumeration and mapping 2, 2 is equal to "OK", and then tried setting the value in my alert to trigger if not equal to "OK", but the alert is still triggering falsely. I also tried changing it to a "rate" and set the alarm to trigger when the value is not equal to 2, but still the same problem.
