So, I'm excited about the new feature that allows you to see how devices are connected. However, I have seen some really inconsistent results. We have nearly an entirely Cisco network and it seems to work on some devices and not on others. I have seen numerous posts about how this is limited to L2 and only and only works on devices with certain mibs available. I've also seen the posts from people requesting CDP support. Specifically, I'm dealing with the following and it's not working consistently or at all: Cisco 6509-E VSS stack Numerous Cisco Nexus (NX-OS) devices Various Cisco IOS switches and routers Do you have any suggestions about how I might get more consistent results? Also, I understand this information gets updated during network Sonar sweeps. I one scheduled, but it keeps reminding me that it found more devices. Is there any way you can set up a scan without the update notifications? If not, I assume I have to put in exceptions for all my workstation networks, etc.?

We have nearly an entirely Cisco network and it seems to work on some devices and not on others. I have seen numerous posts about how this is limited to L2 and only and only works on devices with certain mibs available. I've also seen the posts from people requesting CDP support.

Specifically, I'm dealing with the following and it's not working consistently or at all:

Cisco 6509-E VSS stack
Numerous Cisco Nexus (NX-OS) devices
Various Cisco IOS switches and routers

Do you have any suggestions about how I might get more consistent results?

I don't think NX-OS supports the bridge MIB yet.

I thought the issue with multiple interfaces on a single node was now resolved as I worked with support over this issue with our 6509 VSS stack and they sent over a patch that resolved it?

I'm not sure what you're saying. What issue were you seeing? Our 6509-Es don't see paths to other switches after the network sonar sweep using it as a seed router.

What I was doing was running a single discovery of multiple subnets so I could using the functionality of searching for hosts and also the connect now functionality but there was a bug in that the topology DB couldn't handle a single device with multiple interfaces in different subnets so things like our servers wouldn't show which interface was connected to which switch interface. I raised a call with support and we worked through it and I've just had a mail this morning to say that the bug fix has been added to the recent 10.1 release.

That brings up an interesting point. How do you handle devices with multiple IPs?
