Monitor traffic utilization / physical port

Hello thwack community,

I've recently been introduced to our Solarwinds Servers, and we have two of them (one older and one newer).

Newest server: Orion Platform 2016.1.5300, IPAM 4.3.2, NPM 12.0, QoE 2.1.0, IVIM 2.1.2, NetPath 1.0

Older server: SolarWinds Orion Core 2011.1.0, APM 4.0.2 SP4, IVIM 1.1.1

I was asked to see if there was a possible way to create a benchmark with a few days of usage on a NUC farm plugged into a specific switch, and then create an alert if it uses more than X amount of traffic.

Is this something NPM can do? Do I need a different product? And is there a guide/tutorial to explain how to set something like that up? Since I'm not completely familiar with Solarwinds, I'm not sure where to look.

Thanks,

rmoat
