Monitor Changes in Universal Device Poller

Hi Folks,

we are trying to monitor a loadbalanching appliance of loadbalancer.org. We would like to see when one of the real servers on a VIP goes down.

Therefore we created a Universal Device Poller to Poll the Real IP Servers.

With the UDP we get a table with all the Real IPs on the specified Services like the following table:

Service Name, Server IDReal IP of Server
1,1192.168.1.2
1,2192.168.1.3
2,1

10.10.10.2

2,210.10.10.3

When a Server/Service goes down (e.g. the Service on 10.10.10.2) the table changes to the following:

Service Name, Server IDReal IP of Server
1,1192.168.1.2
1,2192.168.1.3
2,210.10.10.3

Is there any way to alert on this Change? It would be also OK to "count the rows" and if there is a Change in the Count we will be alerted.

Thanks,

Holger

What happen to 10.10.10.2? is there anything logged in events when real server switches to the secondary server?

10.10.10.2 for example crashed. However due to the security of the whole system we can not Ping or monitor the subsystem. We can only monitor "from the outside" and "ask" the loadbalancer.

If we could monitor the subsystem we would not need to query the Loadbalancer.

Unfortunately not.

it might be possible to let a background script check the values and give a return value of 1 whenever something is wrong.

Hello

Have you found a way to perform what you were trying to do?  I posted a similar question a few days ago and got no answer either.

Here is the link to my question.

Is there a way to alert on the variation of a Custom poller value?
