Minimum requirements for an Additional Polling Engine

Hello all,

Been trying to find the minimum hardware and software requirements for setting up a remote polling engine.

Any leads?

Hi

I have  a VM poller with 2 CPU  4 Gb RAM  and 8000 elenents on the poller

The CPU is around 20% the RAM is about 3 Gb.

No syslog or Trap

I dont poll inteface /node stat every 120 sec.

I dont think they are very different from the primary server , you would find it on online help though

Always depends on the load type, but in general the Main Poller requirements are higher as the main needs to handle with Website load, alerting and other operations not related to the polling. There are some operations, which can be done only by main and can't be delegated to Additional Webserver and Additional Poller. However as sja told... for small polling load the 2 CPU (2GHz + ) with 4GB RAM is the absolute minimum configuration for Ad Poller and soon upgrade can be expected (or extending the polling intervals). Safe threshold is at about 60% utilization of CPU so the potential peaks (e.g. on connection drops) can be covered.
