MapMaker (not responding) Orion 8.1

 The DEV team is working on a hotfix for this, it is in the testing phase now-

 If it's the hotfix5, it didn't help one bit.  I received a reply from support that there is no fix for this and that I will have to wait for the next release.  So, are we out of luck with this issue.

I'm also told by support that the slowness is normal behavior.

Hotfix 5 has not been released yet- unless you were one of the volunteers who tested it?

We have received positive results back from those who have applied it and the release for this fix is imminent.

Hotfix 5 did not work!! It made it worse than it already was.

We applied the "Hotfix" on 7/20/07.  When you open MapMaker it loads each node one by one and when you have thousands of them it takes for ever!  Even when you add an object to the map and want to select a node for that object it loads every node one by one. Until everything is loaded you cant do anything with it, in both cases.

WE NEED A FIX FOR THIS AND NEED IT ASAP!

I was given Hotfix5 the other day and was sorely disappointed.  It takes me over 3 minutes to be able to use MapMaker.  I told this to Support the answer I received was, "This is normal behavior with the map maker. It is going to take some time for the node list to load into the map maker. During this time the map maker may not respond if you are trying to interact with it as it is still trying to get everything loaded."  This was not the behavior with pre-8.1 Orion and makes MapMaker terribly difficult, if not impossible, to use.  Not only do I have to wait over 3 minutes to load the node list immediately after opening MapMaker, but also every single time I bring up the 'Select Network Object' box to add an object to the current map.

I don't really see this hotfix (at least my version) as a workable solution, as it could potentially take me up to 7 minutes to simply modify a link on a map.  While the application is not completely locked up during this time, and it's a step in the right direction, this hotfix is not 100% yet.  Keep at it - I'm sure you'll get it right!

OK, it is clear we still have some work to do on the MapMaker fix.  We are looking at it.
