Hi
I need monitor time of my windows network
I did configure as "Monitor NTP drift for Windows servers" document and now I need to send a email end the state is critical.
How can i do it?
can someone help me?
Thanks
Hi
Thanks in advance for the quick response.
I am new to Solarwinds so my question. The idea is to be alerted when the servers do not have the time synchronized with the NTP server, if this happens this alert considers that the application is down or critical state?
Thanks
Yes that is what it does. Just to be clear we are talking about another product that you install with your NPM. SAM Server and Application Monitor. Basically NPM monitors ping and SNMP, SAM monitors a lot of the "other" stuff. Honestly I'm not sure how people get by with just NPM without SAM.
Ok, so some more just to let you know things.
The alerts that neomatrix1217 pointed to, are exactly what you need to start with.
1) an "application" here means an "application monitor" not an application like word.exe.
2) That alert will go off any time any application monitor goes down, so we might need to refine it.
3) The first one is for "down" which is different state then "critical". Down is when there is an error with the monitor, critical is when the monitor worked, but the value was larger than the critical threshold. That can sound confusing at first.
So instead of editing that alert "Alert me when an application goes down" or the "critical" one. Choose "Duplicate and Edit" and work on your own copy of it. You will need to change it to only alert on the specific monitor you want. There is a lot to this, so it's hard to go over in a post like this
