Interfaces are in unknown state but nodes are up (SNMP)

I have migrated my environment to AWS. Some of the nodes are up and polling for SNMP, but the interfaces which are under those nodes are in unknown state. Could someone please help me in resolving this.

hello, Actually I tried all the basic things like SNMP test, deleted the interfaces and re-added them nothing worked. Then I opened a case with Solarwinds Support team, The issue was because of non-sync…

This could be a simple issue, as Up Nodes means that it can successfully ping your Node. I would edit the properties of that Node in question and run a test under the SNMP setting to confirm that the SNMP is still responding. This can be effected by IP changes of the Orion and existing ACLs applied to the SNMP configuration of you node. Please let me know if you have any further questions concerning this issue.

hello,
Actually I tried all the basic things like SNMP test, deleted the interfaces and re-added them nothing worked. Then I opened a case with Solarwinds Support team, The issue was because of non-sync time zone of application servers and database servers.
Once they were set to sync, every thing was normal.

So you are saying that you've removed the unknown i/f's (via Manage Nodes), and then added them again (via List Resources) and they remain in an unknown state?

This is a known issue that would effect more than just interface info. When the application and SQL servers are too far apart on their time settings, the database will basically drop data collected as it is either in the past or in the future. Once their are sync'd the data can be written and accessed normally.

smttysmth02gt,
I have only seen it a couple of times in the 9 years of deploying Orion systems for Clients. It is a known issue, but doesn't happen often as most sync to an NTP source.
