My boss asked to verbalize how NPM (and SAM) help us. While I can list a few things such as:
- Comprehensive Network, Server and Application Performance Monitoring
- Real-time Visibility
- Intuitive UI
- Advanced Alert Engine
- Bird's view of system's health, performance, utilization
- Scalability to multi-site and very large deployments
- Support for failover deployments
- Used by top enterprises
- Numerous industry awards
...and illustrate them with graphs and alerts, it doesn't give out a feeling of how important SW can be in visualizing systems' status and trends, and getting timely information necessary to address issues.
Can you think of an example of how NPM or SAM helped save someone's bacon, or perhaps you've seen a short write-up explaining how important SW apps are in layman's terms?
