Filter Active alerts resource in Noc View

Hi,

I am creating a NOC view that cycles through our various locations so we can see issues in any one location on one tab at a time.

The issue I am having is I need to filter the active alerts resource to only show alerts from the locations being shown on that tab. I can't use view limitation because this limits the entire view and not just the one tab, what I really need is a view limitation per tab but that doesn't seem available at the moment.

I have created each location its own group, I just need to find a way to filter the active alerts per tab for each location is this possible?

The only way I could think to do it would be:
>Create a new view
>Limit the view by location
>Add the Active Alerts resource
>Click the active alerts resource
>Copy the resource URL
>On the NOC view add a custom html resource
>use iframe to display the limited active alerts resource
>repeat for every location
That's off the top of my head, it may or may not work but worth a try. Let me know if you have any questions.

Hi,
Thanks, nearly worked except when I add an iframe resource in a noc view for some reason all the other resources on that tab and the other tabs then fail to load?
Seems a bit strange.

I set up my NOC view the same way... Googling brought me here. I think that view limitations should have the ability to be constrained to a tab.
I have a custom property that I need to filter on. Can I not just add a SQL filter to each element to limit the views?

You sure can add SQL filters to almost everything. Unfortunately for daxuk, the Active Alerts resource doesn't have that option so he had to try another, round about , way to do it. I'm sure in future releases we will be able to limit views more dynamically. SolarWinds is pretty dandy about implementing things that make sense.

You could accomplish this with a custom SQL report embedded in your different pages.
What objects would you be alerting on?
Just nodes, nodes and interfaces, SAM components, etc.?
If you could tell me what objects you care about, and the custom property field that you want to use as a limitation, I might be able to get you a report you can duplicate in your environment.
