I would like to see a feature where for example when monitoring SQL, Exchange, WEB Servers etc, you can assign different trigger levels for each type.
For example, our SQL servers use up the majority of physical memory, this is by design and will continue to even if we add more RAM. However, even thought we know that our SQL servers running at 95% isn't a problem, they show up as a problem because the status light is "RED".
We would like to be able to say:
If Server is an SQL Server and Physical Memory usage is greater than 98% then change status to "RED"
If Server is an SQL Server and Physical Memory usage is greater than 96% then change status to "AMBER"
If Server is an WEB Server and Physical Memory usage is greater than 90% then change status to "RED"
If Server is an WEB Server and Physical Memory usage is greater than 75% then change status to "AMBER"
Is this possible? Now or in future?
We are currently running NPM version 9.0 SP3
I will log this as an enhancement request for the web console. One thing you could do is setup different alerts with different values on when to notify you for different device types etc. are exceeding a different value
We have configured seperate alerts as suggested with different trigger levels, but management really want the web console to have a similar level of functionality.
We have large screens and basically green=good. So if management see a red or amber light, it doesn't look good even though the techies know that this is a red herring.
