Edit user map function gone 9.5 ??

Can you provide more detail into what you mean?  There is an option called "Allow Customize", are you referring to something different?

I need to be able to allocate a certain map to individual users.

The users don't have rights to customize pages etc because i don't want them to.

How can i add their map to their profile?

(i'm know this was do-able under 9.1 within administration)

I would add the new user, granted him the customization rights, logged in with the user account, chose the map, and then removed the customization rights.

I am not aware of any better way, though there might be some.

Here's an option that doesn't require logging in as the new user: when you create the view for the new user, click the Preview button to open that view. Then (still logged in as the admin) click Edit on the map resource and select the map you want the user to see.
