Display universal device poller

Jump to solution

I am trying to monitor some custom MIB's and have configured custom pollers via UnDP and assigned them to nodes. When I browse to those nodes what I see is this:

But what I would like to be able to see is something like this:

Anyone know how to do this? I am new to UnDP and Orion in general. Apologies if this has already been asked before.

Thanks

karim1,

You should find what you need in the chapter "Monitoring MIBs with Universal Device Pollers" of the SolarWinds Orion NPM Administrator Guide, specifically, step 11 of the procedure in section "Creating Universal Device Pollers" may prove useful.

See attachment for I currently see and what I would like to be able to see.

I've marked this for the product manager's review, as I believe we are currently unable provide the level of detail you have requested.

What OIDs are you polling with your defined UnDP's?

Currently polling these OID's:

1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.161.1.4.2.1.4

1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.161.1.4.2.1.5

1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.161.1.4.2.1.6

1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.161.1.4.2.1.7

But over time will also like to monitor the below OID's. When I try to add them to the same poller I get the message 'The OID is not supported':

1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.161.1.3.1.1.4

1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.161.1.3.1.1.5

1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.161.1.3.1.1.13

1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.161.1.3.1.1.15

Ultimately what would be great is to have one table with multiple columns/row for each OID being polled/monitored.

You should be able to get a lot of this.  On the current state it returns a number, but you can map these number to text values to be displayed.  Also you can select which columns to show in the table.

Is there any documentation you can point me to which explains how I might be able to do this?

Hi Karim--

The graphics you put in your post are not showing up in either IE8 or Chrome. Could you let me know how you attached them to your post?

Thx,

M

Hi Marie,

I did a screen capture using 'Snippy' and pasted it. I am using Firefox 4.0.1.
