Custom chart Subtiles

Strange Issue is that I can put Vairables in the Subtiles to a Resource (e.g. Chart) and this shows in the main display but on the chart

only the variable name shows in the chart itself.

e.g. ${contact} shows "${contact}" in the chart.

Is this a bug?
