Create Poller does not work

Hi,

We monitor Cisco WLC. We like to add some extra info to the Node details and as such we like to create a new Poller using the web interface.

We are able to monitor the device using SNMP without any issue

However when we try to create the Hardware Poller it ends with an issue:

The Error message is

The selected OID is not supported. Browse the available OIDs or manually add one and poll its value from the current node. >>Read more

Have you already encounter this issue ?

Where can i start to troubleshoot this ?

is any OID not visible?

OID are visible in the left panel however nothing is displayed on the right panel.

strange... possible, try restarting SolarWinds Services and see if that resolves. OR try in different browser once before restarting the service.

Hm same behavior with Firefox and Chrome. i have already restart the services without success...

hi,
A few things here:
can you run a SNMP walk on the device and search the OID?
have you tried to poll the same OID on a diffrent node?
how to run walk exe: Success Center
id put my money on this one:
from experience i have seen organisations create views on SNMP so information from the MIB is explicitly revoked on the config level. if you have NCM you could check the config or contact your network team

I can snmp-walk the node for this OID from SolarWinds

.1.3.6.1.2.1.1.6.0 = STRING: ""
.1.3.6.1.2.1.1.7.0 = INTEGER: 2
As you can see i am not restricted by any view.

can you run search the OID in the universal device poller and get a value back?
On the success centre there is a link alluding to a permission checker issue it might be worth taking a look here: Success Center

I'm having the same issue! i_like_eggs Any chance you can post that link again as it seems us mere mortals cannot access the link you have put up - keeps asking me for my username and password.
I can create a UnDP with the values for either CPU and Memory, but nothing appears in the the right hand pane
