Count of the # of syslog messages per minute

Is there a way to quantify the number of syslog messages my NPM syslog server is receiving ?

I'd like to have a measurement of the number of syslog messages our NPM server is receiving per minute & then possibly graph that information.

Is it possible to do ? (monitor thy-self)
