Anyone thought of option to allow monitoring of device with snmp but not icmp and have it be green in NPM?

Being able to monitor some devices with snmp and have them appear up in NPM without icmp echo also would be great for me. We have networks I'd like to monitor past firewalls that will NEVER allow icmp traffic to pass due to exploits that take advantage of icmp to pass convert channel traffic.

Or as an alternative to allow an snmp ping type packet instead. Some Isolated and Restricted enclaves have devices I'd love to monitor and be green in NPM without requiring ICMP echo.

I mean think of our options:

No Status: External Node No data collection for this node.
	Status Only: ICMP Collect status, response time and packet loss data only, using ICMP (ping).
	Windows Servers: WMI and ICMP Collect CPU, memory, volume and ICMP data for Windows Servers that do not support SNMP.
	Most Devices: SNMP and ICMP - Recommended

How about snmp ONLY!!!

This is definitely a known feature request. We hope to be able to provide this functionality in a future release.

This would be GREAT! And it doesn't seem like it would be that difficult. Anyhow I can't imagine there aren't more sites with security protocols similar to mine when it comes to icmp passing some firewalls. I can't be the only one wanting to monitor things inside very isolated enclaves.

I really really really need this functionality. I would think this would be very easy to implement as well. It's a bummer to always see these nodes red and down when they are fine just because security says icmp will never be permitted to traverse a firewall into our out of an enclave.

Everybody vote up ability to monitor with snmp or wmi only and have ability of nodes to be green without icmp as an option. This enables monitoring nodes behind firewalls that don't allow icmp and being able to report on them as up/up and green in NPM!
