When you create an alert action to run a powershell script that might check for files and if they exist kill and restart a process, when that alert action fires, where is the log file that captures the action was triggered and its output and/or result? I've looked in C:\ProgramData\Solarwinds\Logs\Orion\ActionsExecutionAlert.log on the assigned poller and the core but, all the files are either 0KB or 1KB with almost no information in them. Is there something I'm missing to be sure the progress is logged? Do I have to do my own logging within the script itself?
Heyy
you can try "C:\ProgramData\SolarWinds\Logs\Orion\Alerting.Service.V2.log"
or you can try "C:\ProgramData\SolarWinds\Logs\Orion\ActionsExecution.log"
if i remeber correctly all the logs are in the ProgramData Folder
I would like to know this as well. I am trouble-shooting on why an email was not sent for reset trigger.
That log would only have an entry if the execution of the action fails by default, you can adjust the log level to get more insight
