AWS Servers cannot view all entities since 2020.2HF1 upgrade

Wondered if anyone else has spotted this and been goven a workaround/fix. I have a support case that is being referred back to the developers. #

Since upgrading to 2020.2HF1. AWS servers cannot view all entities. You can view all entities using the MPE URL or using SWQL Studio. So any custom SWQL query used in a custom query widget will no longer work or if you create a modern dashboard. A number of tables will not be available in the entities window and its the same for Orion Maps. The NetPath selection is not available

Attached is a screenshot with examples. Left side is the AWS and right the MPE URL.

  • As a work around I know one of the other MVP's,  , mentioned running into a bug that sounds similar. They looked into the AWS logs and saw errors relating to missing schema data in this path c:\Program Files (x86)\SolarWinds\Orion\Information Service\3.0\Schemas

Once they saw the files that were missing they just copied them across from the MPE and their situation was apparently resolved.

  • Got that confirmed with SolarWinds support. This is a known bug tracked under this number NPM-15971

2 files are missing in the AWEs SWISv3 schema, which are present in the main poller and APEs:
    1. NpmNetPathSchema.xml
    2. NpmNetPathSchema.resx
They are Found in c:\Program Files (x86)\SolarWinds\Orion\Information Service\3.0\Schemas. Once copied from the main poller to the AWEs, restarted the SWISv3 and everything is back in order.

  • Thanks for the help, that solved the issue.
