APE won't update

Did you check Orion DB, table SWA_InstallationSession to see if you have a row with field isActive set to true?

Make it false, reboot SolarWinds Administration service and check in My Orion deployment the status of the APE.

I presume they are running on windows boxes? check ports are all still open after updates taking place. Run a port scanner on the APE perhaps?

Thats the other thing, try shutting down all the services (if possible) then restarting on both as the rabbit, admin services towards the bottom do sometimes need restarting.

lynchnigel I've restarted everything to no avail. Solarwind help rebuild the poller and it still had the same issue. So I build a new VM and gave it the same identity as the old one and the issue is still there!

bogdan.stan Only I option was turned on 

So I turned it off and restarted the admin service on the poller. Then I checked the updates and now it says it can't get to the internet anymore to check updates so it lists nothing. I then turned it back on and same issue came back.

Any other ideas?

But when I go through Make A Plan, it checks everything and says it's all up to date. So with HF2, I'll download the offline installer and run it manually and see how it goes.

Its things like this that make all of us fear clicking on Install for the past 25 years.

You never know what you're going to get.

Has the config wizard threw up anything when you run through that? Have you used troubleshooting app and gathered all the logs together for Solarwinds and opened a ticket? 

Another thought, you are looking on the additional poller correct? have a look if the main poller is having any issues. 

I've had this happen in the past, it was just a visual bug but things were solid underneath. Fix was for SW to modify the db to get rid of an outstanding installer.

Yup what bogdan.stan suggested, cleared it right up.

HF2 installed with no issues at all.
