ALERT Manager and REPORT scheduler problem

Hi,

Before upgrade;

1. I am able to send HTML/WEB PAGE attaching this string on the end of the address >>>"&accountid=admin&password=pasword"

2. No problem, I am able to send Web page /HMTL format without issue

After Upgrade:

either ALERT Manager or REPORT scheduler were not able to send a Web Page / Html Format

  • Hello,

Check the \Program Files\SolarWinds\Orion\swalert.log(.x) files and review the entries in the AlertLog table concerning your (Advanced) alerts.

The \Program Files\SolarWinds\Orion\RunOrionJob.log or C:\WINDOWS\Schedlgu.txt  might give you further information about the Report Scheduler jobs.

How to troubleshoot scheduled tasks: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/308558

    Thanks,

    Yann

  • Thanks for the response Yann,

    How is that....

       http://ServerName/Orion/Netperfmon/Chart.aspx?CHARTNAME=HostMMAvgCPULoad&TITLE=&SUBTITLE=&SUBTITLE2=&WIDTH=640&HEIGHT=0&NETOBJECT=N:5242&CUSTOMPOLLERID=&SAMPLESIZE=1H&PERIOD=Last%207%20Days&FONTSIZE=2&NETOBJECTPREFIX=N&SUBSETCOLOR=&RYSUBSETCOLOR=&PRINTABLE=true&SHOWTREND=True&RESOURCEID=627

    Cannot be sent?

So as a workaround, I use "custom html" then copy-paste the address then test the alert and it SUCCESSFULLY sent

    http://ServerName/Orion/SummaryView.aspx?VIEWID=118&PRINTABLE=TRUE

but the problem is it also sent ATT123456.dat file in attachment which makes the email size pumpup to 1MB.

    Questions:

    1. How can I get rid of it (ATT123456.dat) and just send the content of the email (html) so I can reduced the size of the email?

    2. what I'm trying to accomplish is that, the ALERT will be able to send the Graph of CPU Utilization/Load when triggered, is that possible?

    3. Same with Job Scheduler, but I noticed that in job scheduler, it did not attached or send the .dat file. So what I did is when an alert triggered, it will run an executable program which is the job scheduler that sends also the html. It reduces the Size of the email but the process is long and hard. Because I need to create New Job for each nodes which is crazy because I have hundreds of them.

I'm no asp.net-brainer so sorry about that.....Hope you can enlightened me with your programer-point-of-view advises
