profile and device template grouping

When I need to make bulk changes to a large number of devices, I do so via the Execute Command Script in NCM. 

But first I go to NCM's Settings and change how my devices are grouped. Normally I display them grouped by Vendor:

But in the case of wanting to only work on a specific model of hardware--which will all use the same NCM template--I display them by Machine Type, then select only the models I will change:

Once I've selected the specific machine types I want to work with, I can right click on them and choose Execute Command Script, build the script and execute it.

Since I'm viewing and selecting by machine type, I know I've only chosen the devices with identical templates.  If you set up all your edge devices to use a specific type of connection (e.g.: SSH instead of Telnet, a specific user name and credentials) you've made it easy to work with devices by the connection profile NCM has for them.  Sure, it's a bit of a backwards way of doing it compared to having the functionality you'd like immediately out of the box.

I think I understand what your vote's about, but until SW makes what you want available, could you use the above process as an alternative way to accomplish what you'd like to do?

It's not an alternative because some devices with same machine type sometimes requires template modification to work, also different devices on different locations uses different connection profiles.

now for example I want to change write mem command to copy running startup because some devices does not support write command, and I can't modify the master template then I have to create a copy and replace it with all devices that uses the master templated but there is no way to select them.

That makes sense.  I'd hoped my idea might be useful, but not ideas always apply the way we'd like.
