Provide EOL/EOS Information

Ability to report devices being End-of-Life or End-of-Support.

  • Right.  But from what I know Cisco doesn't just give out access to this and that won't change.  They won't let SW interface with the API and then pass this to other customers for no fees, or the license model they would work out to allow this would be insane I would bet.  That isn't Cisco's model and they won't change this for just one company to give access to its user base.  I would love this feature, but the way Cisco controls the API to interface with this it won't be just open and not require a CCO account.  I was just providing insight to why you won't likely ever see this integration beyond what they have now where you need a CCO account with the Special access to the EOL/EOS API.

  • The goal of this feature is to have EOL/EOS info directly in NCM with no need of CCO account.

  • I doubt you will see this as an open tool for Cisco products.  You have to have a CCO account have have Cisco Partner access to interface with the API to pull EOL/EOS information.  SW has a tool that does this for free, but as stated you have to have a CCO account with special previleged access for the tool to fully connect to the API.

This is stated in the thread you linked towards the bottom.

As for other vendors this would be nice if they allow open interfacing with their API that reports this.
