The web user interface (UI) for Solarwinds NCM Config Change Template scripts has a button to "DEFINE VARIABLES & RUN". However, there is no "password variable" feature(s) that would obscure passwords typed by the user (i.e. echo asterisks instead of the characters typed by the user) and obscure the value of the variable in ALL NCM logging (Transfer status logging into Solarwinds database, trace session files, etc.). All/most major scripting languages have had similar features for years.
The feature request is to add a NCM script "password variable" type that would REMOVE ANY OPTION to store of the value of a "password variable" type to any location (database, file) and obscure the characters typed by an user in the Solarwinds Web UI (i.e. echo asterisks instead of the characters typed by the user) for a "password variable" type.
