I'd be keen for FTP and SFTP integration for NCM, you already have a solarwinds FTP client, cant you package this within NCM?
A few different reasons behind this:
1. TFTP and SCP use UDP and FTP/ SFTP use TCP, adds reliability and windowing and I've found its 10x faster transferring than TFTP and SCP (to cisco devices)
If you've ever transferred a firmware image via these methods, you'll find FTP is alot faster.
2. This could then tie into Certificate Chains, ie NCM could (and possibly should) integrate with certificates for end devices via SSH etc.
(It could be a cert manager so we could effectively have a trust relationship, firewalls could see the traffic through SFTP (via certificate trusts) and traffic would be more reliable via TCP - and encrypted end to end.
