Bring back the NCM Desktop version.

For me it's not possible to do the same work with the website as with the desktop version.

Desktop was much more efficient in mass configuration and checking.

for example with the old desktop veriosn you send a show command to all of your switches and get the response in the window on the same page. All in one. Right mouse click - copy all - past to Excel and check there. Great.

Now you get for every switch a single link that you must click to see the response.

Same when you issue some config lines to some switches you see directly what is going on and the response. Much more comfortable than now.

So  Please bring back the old NCM desktop version. you can leave web, but bring it back.

  • I, too, have yet to find the functionality in the Web UI that I used in the on-server application.  But I'm pretty confident it's there--I only have to learn how to access it.

Still, the app UI on the server was intuitive, and I spent the last few years developing the skills to do what needed to be done through that interface.  Hopefully the learning curve for the web UI will be short.

  • Hi,

We are not going to bring the desktop application back, but we definitely want to know about workflows that are not smooth in the web console.

We spent considerable effort collecting user feedback on this topic; however, I admit we haven't talked to every single customer, so it's almost inevitable we missed some points.

That's why we encourage all NCM users to report use cases where the desktop application was easier to use. We take this feedback very seriously.

For example, the issue you described is already known to us and we think about ways to improve the web UI.

I'll be happy to have a call with you and discuss your feedback in detail.
