spurious leading space on config

I have a number of Cisco VPN3000 devices that show a leading space on a few lines of their config sporatically during the nightly config download.  This caused the config change report to show a difference when one doesn't actually exist.  Does anyone have any experience with configs and random leading spaces for certain devices types?

  • You'll end up going to File/Settings, Configs, then to Comparison Critieria.  Add a pattern that matches the spurious spaces.  You might need to add several patterns, if you see configs that have differing amounts of spaces.

There are good resources at Thwack that show how to build a pattern for ignoring config sections that are not useful.

    Good networking!
