Hello,
We have a wireless bridge that occasionaly becomes unavailable, to address it we have a remote device that will power cycle the unresponsive bridge (a dataprobe iBoot). What I would like to do is create an alert condition in the NPM alerts that basically says if the switch is still accessible, but the bridge is not, then run an NCM action/Execute Config Script on the iBoot device. I can create the alert, and the NCM script, but there is no way that I see to specify what node to execute the NCM action against?
Thanks in advance for any thoughts or insight,
John
Hi John,
I asked our dev team and they said
NCM alert action is executed on node which triggers the alert. There is no way to specify which node to execute script on directly in alert action.
Not sure if that helps.

Jiri
Anyone know when this feature will be available or another way to accomplish the same goal?
Hi kdbednarski,
There's currently no workaround. This is known feature request, but it's out policy not to disclose specific future plans.

Jiri
In the current version of NPM/NCM (12.3/7.8), when using the "Execute An NCM Action" alert trigger action, I see an option that says:
"Enter the IP address of the NCM node where the NCM action will execute."
Is this new and does it actually allow you to specify the IP address against which the "Execute Config Script" action would be executed?
Ben
bene Yes it does allow you to specify the IP address that the Script will execute against, this KB article gives some additional color to the alert feature.
Thanks! I've tried out this trigger option, specifically executing commands on a node other than the one being monitored, and it works. Very cool.
Really glad to hear you like it!
