NCM without NPM

Jump to solution

Hi all,

Looking for an answer to a simple question I hope...

Can we run NCM independently of NPM or is NCM dependent upon NPM?

We are moving to a different monitoring solution that does not support configuration management. We really like NCM and would like to keep it if we did not have to pay for NPM as well.

Thank you, Pat

Yes, NCM should be able to live on its own, though it will likely become very lonely without its friend NPM.

Thanks wluther - Lonely? I assume you mean limited functionality? For instance, we have a weekly report that lets us know if there are any configuration download failures and if so we can correct....which is good to know. But, maybe not worth the price of NPM.

With only NCM will we be able to:

Automate configuration downloads?

Compare older configs with new?

Reports emailed to us with any download failures?

Thanks again, Pat
