NCM only stores in local path

There should be a drop down to select telnet, ssh, snmp, scp, etc.

The 2nd screen shot is showing you have it configured to archive to the local folder. If you want to save to a network path, from there, you would need to try "\\172.16.227.25\sharename\".

So, when your connection profile is configured to save configs via telnet/ssh, it will use the settings you have in the 2nd screenshot. However, if your connection profile is set to use scp, it will use settings from your 1st screenshot.

So I had a wrong idea how this works...

I thought the configuration was downloaded via ssh and then solarwinds sent it via SCP to the scp server...

So I need to type the commands in my devices to send the configuration to the SCP server? Am I right?

alvaro.culebras​ Again, I'm not 100% on this (I'll try to verify once I get a few moments back on my PC), but your connection profile will dictate how NCM will login, run scripts/commands, ask for configs, download/transfer configs, which ports to use, etc...

When you edit your node, what does the NCM part of the node settings look like?

I have this configuration.

alvaro.culebras Try to change that "Transfer Configs Using" setting to SCP, instead of SSH2.

If you cannot edit it directly, use the link to the far right to make/build a copy to test.

I'm not sure about the specific commands for your device, but I think NCM should have enough details at that point to follow all the correct paths. Again, I'm not 100% on this, as we do not use this option, but I think you can just try it out and see if it works.

Also, you can enable the tracing option, and follow the logs, to verify NCM is doing what you expect it to do.

alvaro.culebras Here is a link to the SolarWinds Success Center, in regards to configuring the device template to backup via SCP. Being that I do not use this method, I am uncertain as to the complexity.
