NCM is seeing date change as a change Cisco Nexus 5548

Jump to solution

Subject says it all.  Every day NCM sees a change in date as a change to configuration.  Is there a way to not have that happen?  See attached.

Hi mmedwid,

All you need to do is tell NCM to ignore the lines beginning with !Time, adding the details below to your comparison criteria should sort it:

Helpful notes on Regex here:

Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Regular Expressions in NCM But Were Afraid to Ask

I was having trouble with ASA's reporting changes on the time.

using the BRE regex has some gotchas described in the post.

Google sent me here first, maybe this post will help someone in the future looking for why their regex isn't working as expected.

Also - to find the box listed above

Settings - All Settings - NCM Settings - Comparison Criteria

Thank you! That worked perfectly

NCM provides a filter which includes some canned strings the filter out time changes when the confiig change report runs. However the NXOS time string is different then what is provided with NCM. If you open the config change report job you will see an option for filters.  Add the nexus time syntax to filter it out when the config change report runs.

Hope  this helps.
