NCM Interfaces not showing in database

Hi all,

I am running one of the queries that vispetto shared to show me the number of ports used, free and percentage etc for network devices.

When i run this report i don't get all of my network devices, only a fraction.

Now if i run the queries to see what is in NPM compared to NCM i get entries in the NPM query but nothing in the NCM one.

Going a little further the devices in question ARE in the NCM_Nodes table, They are in the NCM_Nodeproperties table, however they are NOT in the NCM_Interfaces table.

Is there any reason why the inetrfaces on the affected devices are NOT showing in the NCM_Interfaces table and how would i go about getting that information re-populated so i can get a complete report?

Looks like if i do an inventory update for the devices that are missing, once completed the data now appears.
Question i suppose now is, how did this information disappear in the first instance?

Do you have an inventory job running on a schedule?

mesverrum no we don't have an inventory job setup to run on schedule, does this information get purged after a period of time?

I don't remember off hand if it gets purged, but if you aren't running inventory jobs then its likely that not all nodes have ever been inventoried. Maybe people have just been occasionally one off manually inventorying nodes one by one. That's where NCM is getting the data on those tables, no inventory then no interface info.
