Config Backup Question

Sorry to be the dumb guy in the room but I have a question about the backups that NCM is doing. I have it setup to do backups of the configs, I assume that I can use that backup to restore a device should it fail. The example is the ASA5510 and 20's. Should one of those fail and I get a new one in it's place, all I need to do is re-ip it etc. and then I can load it into NCM and use the Upload config feature? See I thought I would have to setup a TFTP process seperate from NCM and store them that way.

Can someone clear up my stupidity?
