We have a directory that receives files from a number of different sources. We need to monitor the file count in this directory but need to exclude one particular file extension. How can we monitor that total count of files but ignore the .log file extension in the count?
Sounds like you need a powershell script to do this assuming this is on a windows machine.
Then you can pass the directory and the extension to exclude.
If it were some flavor of unix, you could do this with a simple command line command, shell script or perl script.
