Log Forwarder hangs while trying to add a subscription

How complex is your subscription?

Hello,

I only have a subscription for Application, Hardware events and System.  I just want to add one more for the Security category.  I have all four subscriptions on more than 10 servers without an issue. The only difference with the two servers I am having an issue with is that they are domain controllers.

Thanks. I also just noticed this link https://thwack.solarwinds.com/t5/Kiwi-CatTools-Discussions/Log-forwarder-100-CPU-spike/td-p/362307  after initially opening the question and decided to follow this. I exported a copy of the Security log and cleared it. I was then able to add the Security subscription successfully. Before doing this I also tested by adding the Security subscription and selecting the error option while deselecting the alert and info options. Then went back and created another security subscription while this time selecting alert and deselecting the error and info options. This took longer to add the subscription but it was added successfully.

In the end, I chose the first option of saving the security log, then clearing it and then adding it to the subscription with the error, alert and info options selected.
