Hi All
I am new to IPAM products and have queries on the Discovery Capability
As per my understanding IPAM discovery means, that IPAM pings to all IP Address it has allocated and waits for response
a) if response is received then device is active. and IPAM collects the device details and adds it to the device Inventory.
b) if no response then device is not active and IPAM claims the IP and changes it status to available.
Please correct if the understanding is wrong and also share if any other reasons or benefits why IPAM does Discovery.
