IPAM 4.6 vs BIND 9.10 - syntax errors

I'm having problems getting IPAM to integrate with my BIND 9.10 server (CentOS 7) after adding a masters clause.  The clause works as it should from a BIND perspective, but I noticed that IPAM marked the server as down after I added it.

I made a quick slave of the server and left out the masters clause, and viola IPAM thinks that one is just fine.  I'm not sure why IPAM would care, it's not using it anyway.  I can manually execute all the IPAM scripts from the Orion server successfully, so there is just some weird check or character in there that IPAM doesn't like.  Perhaps it can't tell that it's outside of a zone definition?
