DNS Records

When i edit IP address in IPAM v3.1, the only DNS entry i can make is an 'A' record.

Anyway i can create reverse (PTR) and alias records (CNAME) from this screen ?

also wondering if there is anyway to automatically create a 'PTR' record when creating an 'A' record ?

Any idea why the 'DNS Server Node' and 'DNS Server Zone' are grey'd out as well ?

Thanks for the DNS features in IPAM v3.1 !

  • Dave, the answer on your first 2 questions (creating PTR and alias records CNAME from the Edit IP Address page, and an automatic creation of PTR records) is no. This is the way how it works now.

The 'DNS Server Node' and 'DNS Server Zone' are grayed out on the Edit IP Address page, because these settings are inherited from Subnet settings.
