HA Virtual IP - Does this need to be assigend to both network cards?

I have installed HA as instructed in the articles below

What I am unsure of however is whether or not the VIP has to be added to network cards as a secondary IP?

It is not necessary to manually add the VIP to the NICs I.P configuration, HA will do this as part of the setup and during the failover process.
