Monitoring nodes via TCP ports

Jump to solution

We have a few legacy systems that are not pingable. Previously we were using nagios to monitor the boxes via multiple tcp ports (say 22,3389 etc). Is there a way to monitor nodes via tcp ports in solarwinds?

PS: I am aware of agents. This would require a change process of legacy systems so im curious if we can just monitor via tcp ports.

I was able to achieve this by just assing an external node and using tcp port monitor to check if a tcp port is up. Then we can alert on the application/component of TCP port monitor.

I am new to SW and I have the same issue. May I know how you were able to solve the issue?
