The Inside Scoop from VMworld 2012

VMworld 2012 kicked off today in San Francisco, and it promises to bring lots of surprises. The first I've heard about is a rewind in VMware's pricing model to be announced tomorrow, including a change in pricing for their solution for VMware monitoring, vCenter Operations Manager. From the sounds of it, this will be the big mea culpa on VMware's licensing structure change that most of us have been expecting for months now. There is also a strong chance that they'll announce the end of the vRAM tax. More to come on that soon.

Tomorrow, I'm attending sessions on the use of flash as a cache, managing the transition to cloud computing, and a couple of sessions on different use cases. So, what do you want to hear about from VMworld? Leave a comment below, and I'll see what I can do. Oh, and if you're at VMworld, make sure you come by booth 1701 to visit SolarWinds in the Acronis booth and for a chance to win some great prizes!
