- SolarWinds SAM, the effective server monitoring tool provides Expert Templates that deliver expert recommendations for the optimal thresholds in your environment. These templates also provide guidance on what to do when those thresholds are exceeded, and guidance on how to resolve the issue when it occurs.
ManageEngine, on the other hand, has no support of this kind. When it comes to optimal thresholds and determining which counters matter for your environment, you are on your own. - Real-Time Performance Monitoring is cool feature within SolarWinds SAM that enables information polling as often as every 5 seconds. This feature allows you to instantly look at the processes running on a machine to determine what might be causing a problem like a sudden server spike. You don’t even need to log in--physically or remotely--to the machine, you simply launch RTPE in context from the affected node.
ManageEngine doesn’t have this feature or anything like it. - Do you want to pay forever, or own your software outright? SolarWinds SAM, application monitor is a perpetual license, but ManageEngine is pay as you go.
